ANSSI's Cyber Threat Overview 2023 reviews the year's cyber landscape for France: sustained state-linked espionage (including pre-positioning and stealthy intrusions), a rise in ransomware and extortion campaigns, active exploitation of critical vulnerabilities (including zero-days and widespread one-day exploits such as MOVEit and Barracuda), growth of mobile-targeting spyware and anonymisation networks, and ongoing risks to critical infrastructure and major events (notably Paris 2024). The report catalogs key affected sectors, malware and groups, and urges stronger patching, detection, readiness, legal measures and coordinated incident response.
